He Heals the Brokenhearted
Memory Verse Stories and Songs: Psalm 147:3
There are some verses that just become a part of your life. I’ll share some of my favorites here this week, along with short stories of how they touched my heart.
He heals the brokenhearted and binds up their wounds. — Psalm 147:3
Does God care? When you’ve been taught to have a high view of God, when you’re aware of his greatness and majesty, his sovereignty — it’s right to wonder if God actually cares about our small lives. And even more direct - will God take care of me?
The Bible is clear that he does care and he does take care of his people. He is a shepherd who tends to his sheep. What strikes me most about this verse is that God heals our hearts. He wraps his loving arms around our thoughts, feelings, and emotions.
These verse made it into my own song Trust in Him at All Times. I had in mind the physical and emotional trouble we face, and I find it fitting that this song came right before COVID-19 changed the world.
You will bind up the brokenhearted / For God you care and give us rest / You will save all the crushed in spirit / God will deliver us from death
