Late last week, a fly flew into our house. We’d left the garage door open, and it quickly snuck in. We had to leave, and I forgot about it.
Fast forward to this evening — I see it zipping around the house. It looks bigger now. I think about all the germs it’s spread — the things it’s touched, landed on, made dirty.
We find ourselves in the bedroom, alone with the insect. We close the doors. We lead it to the light. I strike it down swiftly. Pick it up with a tissue. Flush it down the toilet.
Sin sneaks in when you're not paying attention. It grows. It spreads. Don’t wait. Kill it quickly.
