Older Saints
Tested and True
Earlier this week I shared how I’m preaching from Joshua, telling the stories of Caleb and Achsah. They are not as famous as Joshua, but they are just as faithful.
One thing about Caleb is that he emphasizes being older. There is something special about an older man of faith. For Caleb, he has trusted God before. He has been tested and proved true.
At my age, I’m ashamed to admit that it’s easy to discount older people. But it should not be this way. I ought to honor those who have walked in the way of the Lord before me.
My parents are first-generation Christians. When I was younger, it was difficult for me to grasp just how challenging that must have been for them. Now, I respect them so much more, and I am grateful for their faith.
