With Him
Featured Book Review
In With Him, Kyle Fox delivers a 90-day devotional designed to help students grow deep roots in Christ.
This book made me feel like a teen again—and in a good way. Some of my most formative memories were made at church retreats, where we were given intentional time set aside to spend with God. Counselors would often write devotionals for us, and reading this book felt much the same: personal, thoughtful guidance for spending meaningful time with the Lord.
Firmly Rooted in the Savior
What I love most about this book is how directly Fox speaks to students and the challenges they may face—the pressure to perform for others, navigating deep friendships, cultivating true intimacy with God, and understanding identity and purpose.
He writes with a warm, pastoral tone that neither talks down to students nor waters things down. The book is thoughtfully structured to foster real spiritual growth, addressing key topics such as Scripture, prayer, community, mission, and applying the Bible to real-life struggles. Following a consistent pattern of Scripture, meditation, reflection, and prayer, this devotional will help students stay firmly rooted in the Savior.

Act Bravely, Ask Boldly
Last week, I shared what I was learning while preparing for my sermon. I delivered it this Sunday, and I think it went well! Thank you for praying for me.
The sermon article and video are available on my website. You’ll notice that I didn’t end up including everything I shared on Substack. Some of it I cut for time, some were insights that would have been tangents in the sermon, and in other places I simply came up with better illustrations.
It’s been fun to share some of my preparation publicly—but you can be sure that whatever you see here is still just a glimpse into what goes on in my study! I hope you find it helpful, and I’m humbled and honored that you would take the time to read what I write.
