Youth Worship
Growing Musicians in the Church
I’ve been thinking about challenging myself, and this past Sunday, I tried something I haven’t done in years—leading our youth in worship. Here are my initial reflections:
The energy and vibe of working with youth is refreshing and encouraging. From practice to being on stage during the worship service, it’s exciting and fun.
Connecting the dots is important. I’m reminded that musical worship can look and feel different at each stage, from children to youth to adults. I’m happy to help guide them along the way and show them that, even though our expressions may differ, we worship the same God.
While skill sets may be different, we all have to start somewhere. We’ve all needed people, guidance, and opportunities to help us grow. I’m proud to be back on the ground, investing in and developing the next generation of musicians in the church.
