I spent a good part of the day doing some hard work around the house—putting together an outdoor storage container we needed, sweating in the garage, working with my hands. My family was happy inside, and I was happy to serve them in this way.
So much of what I do takes place online, behind a screen, typing words. That’s why it feels good and refreshing to spend a weekend doing something real. I believe there’s value in our digital world, but there’s something uniquely meaningful about the physical, tangible, practical things we do for the people we love.
I’m thankful to Christ Jesus for setting the example, who, by His grace, enables us to serve others in love: “By this we know love, that he laid down his life for us, and we ought to lay down our lives for the brothers. (…) Little children, let us not love in word or talk but in deed and in truth." (1 John 3:16–18, ESV)

Many of us find our focus drifting from God and his love, and we often struggle to keep him first in our lives. Haggai and Malachi speak to hearts like ours—calling us back to our first love, challenging our priorities, and offering hope for the future. In this 8-week study and podcast from my friends At His Feet Studies, these prophets point us to Christ and the enduring faithfulness of God. Amazon affiliate link.
